(pic) Parts of Shilin Night Market is housed indoors (somewhat like a foodcourt). I believe that they are the ONLY sheltered night market in taiwan. Foodies will tell you to go for the outside/unsheltered ones in quest for the real deal.

It was raining when we arrived at Taipei. Because we were scheduled to arrive at around evening, I planned for us to visit Shilin Night Market. Most people will warn you that night markets are too crowded for infants and toddlers. Well, it depends on the timing mostly. We went to 2 night markets, Shilin and Luodong in Yilan (which is much bigger, more crowded and definitely less touristy than Shilin. The locals will tell you that they don't visit Shilin and that the prices are inflated. Well, there is some truth in that because we did enjoy the Luodong Night Market more than Shilin Night Market.
Shilin Nigh Market - how to get there?
Located in Taipei’s Shilin District, it has an MRT (subway station) Jiantan Station that will bring you directly to Shilin which is located between Dadong Rd, Danan Rd, Wenlin Rd, and Jihe Rd.
What to eat at Shilin Market?
If you are familiar with Taiwanese food, you will definitely know of the foodie delights like famous Giant Fried Chicken Steak, Bubble Tea, Oyster Vermicelli and Oyster Omelet. And of course, the Stinky Tofu. These are all available at Shi Lin Night market.

(pic) Fruits in Taiwan always look so juicy! Taiwan's local fruits produces include banana, grape, guava, pineapple, lychee, mandarin orange, mango, orange, papaya and wax apple et cetera
We got the twins some street-fruits haha...dragonfruit with plain yogurt for dinner while the adults feast decadently on unhealthy street food. They will encourage you to try before you buy! Yummy *slurp*
